Swiss wellness resorts that will make your fall specialSauna, spa, and hot springs—here you can relaxWhen the days get shorter and the air gets cooler, our
bodies long for warmth, relaxation, and a little break from everyday life.
Autumn is therefore the ideal time for a wellness day or even a whole weekend
of rest and regeneration. Switzerland offers a wide range of outstanding spa
and thermal offers – whether in the mountains, by the lakes or right on your
doorstep. Here we present five particularly worthwhile wellness destinations
for autumn.
1. Waldhotel Arosa – Relax above the treetops
The Waldhotel Arosa in Graubünden is one of Switzerland's
leading wellness hotels. Its spa area covers more than 1,800 m² and features
panoramic saunas with mountain views, a saltwater pool, an outdoor Finnish Kelo
sauna, steam baths, and spacious relaxation rooms. Especially in autumn, the
combination of cool mountain air and a cozy, warm spa atmosphere is an
experience for all the senses.
2. Therme Vals – architecture meets thermal water
Therme Vals in the canton of Graubünden is an architectural
masterpiece by Peter Zumthor and, at the same time, a place of deep relaxation.
The mineral-rich water from the St. Petersquelle spring bubbles directly into
the various pools at a temperature of around 30–36°C. Particularly impressive
in autumn: a dip in the steaming outdoor pool while the surrounding mountains
are cloaked in golden foliage.
3. Ermitage Wellness & Spa Hotel – Warmth in the Saanenland
The traditional Ermitage Wellness Hotel is located in the
heart of Schönried near Gstaad and is particularly popular in autumn with its
open fireplaces, autumnal menus, and spacious wellness facilities. The spa area
offers, among other things, a rock grotto with salt water, bio and aroma
saunas, an outdoor whirlpool with mountain views, and various massages.
4. Swiss Holiday Park – Family-friendly and versatile
The Swiss Holiday Park in Morschach (SZ) offers wellness for
everyone – whether you are alone, with your partner, or with your family. In
addition to a classic spa with a sauna, steam bath, and whirlpool, there is an
adventure pool, a ladies' spa, massage services, and spacious relaxation areas.
5. FORTYSEVEN Wellness Spa – Autumn warmth meets design and depth
The FORTYSEVEN Wellness Spa in Baden (AG) is one of the most
modern and impressive wellness facilities in Switzerland – and perfect for an
autumnal retreat from everyday life. The 47°C thermal water comes directly from the famous Baden
spring and supplies eight indoor and outdoor pools with soothing warmth.
Especially in autumn, the steaming pools with a view of the Limmat are a real
experience. There are over 11 different saunas to choose from, including
a Finnish sauna, bio sauna, steam bath, and infrared cabins. In addition, the
“Kosmos” offers space for mental relaxation with light and sound concepts.
